I think it is time for former officials to start speaking up. This world is a much more dangerous place than it was 12:00 noon, Jan 20, 2009.

I have not felt this apprehensive since I was a child during the Cuban Missle Crisis. I was not this apprehensive after 9/11.

We are not looking at a single terrorist attack (although it remains a clear danger). The world is getting ready to explode. Our strength was the stabilizer. We are seen as weak by the world. A weak, debt ridden nation that has turned its back on its best allies.

I could say the same except I was a child living on a military base in the south east during the Cuban Missile Crisis...

I too remember the daily apprehension during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Everyone was on alert and worried if their gas tanks fell below the halfway mark and people were building backyard bomb shelters next to their kids’ swing sets. During 9/11 we were able to be more p-off than worried because we knew we had a president and government who would be there for us. Today, our resident and government is decidedly against us. They are the enemy and they are striking us down on a daily basis. They are alienating our friends and laying us vulnerable for any enemy to devour as they please. This is bigger than the Missile Crisis.

Yes, we are unprotected. 0, if confronted with important decisions and escalating world tensions would react as he would to anything else, form a committee. When he makes a decision it will be a compromise with the right, talking boldly with nothing to back it up. We are replaying early and middle 20th Century boogeyman again, and now Chamberlain is OUR head of state. I usually am flip about news like this, filing it away as a sign of bad things. This news feels like 9-11, only it is more important how a serial adulterer does during golf to those supposedly watching events.
