But the main point he was making was that the Tea Partiers were mainstream Americans with plenty of support amongst American voters, instead of the “far right, racist, haters and psychos” that the mainstream media has been fighting really hard to portray them as. So the Rasmussen poll would have served to further strengthen his argument.
