There was a stepped-up Guard presence in New Mexico during the Governor’s tour of the border last week, but they’ve not been seen in the area since then.

Governor Brewer announced a few more were going to be deployed here in Arizona, but I haven’t heard which units, if any, were activated. It won’t be units, but a few augmentees here and there.

I think what we have here is augmentees- now you see them, now you don’t- hubby came home from El Paso last night and saw a few next to the highway with the Border Patrol. I think there is only a handful of NG on the ground and a NG helicopter here. That is likely why Richardson refuses to answer reporters when they ask him how many NG are here.
