Evangelicals for Romney lowering expectations for SRLC straw poll
The Washington Post ^ | 04/09/2010 | David Weigel

NEW ORLEANS -- The grassroots group Evangelicals for Romney has made a decent-sized splash here at the SRLC, with massive signs in the hall across from the ballroom, piggy banks with their slogans carved on the side ("Elect a president who won't break the bank!"), and a key banner placement in the background of the bar where Sean Hannity will film his show.

But while the group isn't talking about where its money came from, founder Nancy French told me that it bought "a couple hundred" tickets for supporters to come in and support Romney in the straw poll. I informed French that supporters of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) have snagged more than 600 tickets.

"Oh, they're gonna kill us!" said French.

There are around 3600 SRLC attendees, and not all are participating in the straw poll, but I'm already running into Paul supporters who've arrived to back their candidate. And I wouldn't bet on vote-splitting between Paul and libertarian former New Mexico governor Gary Johnson, who's here testing the waters. Johnson, given the very last speaking slot of the day, drew less than 50 people in the room that Palin packed this morning.

The obscenity of the liberals to take conservative names for organizations that mock the group that the name came from is a terrible practice.

...Yer credentials are impressive, and, I might agree with you on some issues about Ron Paul. Yea, the pork. I was against him on that. But, They all do it? To be a purist, the whole of Congress and the Whitehouse needs to be replaced. Voted out. Agreed...

...But, do we keep some as representatives? None? I’d say most. I would say, for some of his faults, Ron Paul is one I agree with most often. Why? Because I support most, not all, libertarians on the issues...

...Be glad to debate you on this subject, public, or private...

I don’t get the game that you guys play.

You know that Ron Paul will never win an office outside of that district, you know that it is childish to keep play acting like he will suddenly become head of the Republican Party and win 62 million votes and become President of the United States, yet you devote a fanatical energy and commitment of time to play act like all this real.

Why do you guys keep playing like little girls having fake tea and mud pies in your garden playhouse, how is that you have such little interest in real world politics, yet you want to be at the forefront of those that are here purely for real world politics and to win elections?

It cracks me up that the Paultards are proud of their swarming and spamming tactics.

Me too!

Seems they have the collective intelligence of one College drop-out.

"Ron Paul we win again. His supporters are are flooding to the conference. He won CPAC hands down and no question. He is the undeniable front runner in these troubled times. No one has the following this great leader has. GOP RON!!!"

If no one has the following of Ron Paul, how did Juan McLame win the nomination and Dear Leader win the White House? Exactly? If you hurry, the blimp can take you back to the mothership tonight...

I have come to realize that a lot of people that hang around political discussions and are in the political community, are not actually interested in, or part of politics.

The Ron Paul for President, the Alan Keyes for President, the Duncan Hunter for President 2012, none of that is real, yet they excitedly promote them just like they are major players and even front runners that are to be a part of every 2012 election discussion.

When you don’t have to deal with elections and winning votes, then your fantasy guy can be as pure as Jesus himself.

There is a reason why Ron Paul cannot win enough votes to escape that district by moving to the Senate, or the Governor’s office, there is a reason why Alan Keyes cannot win any election, anywhere.

A President has to win 60 million votes, that means that you have to appeal to 60 million people, purity and bluntness have to be smoothed out a little to win the vote of 60 million free, independent Americans from all over the nation and from all works of life and of even many varying political beliefs.

As Barbie says, “real electoral politics are harder than that fantasy politics stuff”.

I won’t be voting for hypocritical Ron “Earmarks” Paul.

You must think we’re all too stupid to notice him talking out of both sides of his mouth as he drags the pork back to Texas.

While Gov.Palin and America were working hard trying to stop ObamaCARE
where was the most-RINO backstabber-in-chief Mitt “I will screw you” Romney?

ANSWER: Hiding, sending out his manipulators,
selling his ghostwritten book,
helping Gore push the fraud of climate change,
(true to form) attacking the "tea party",
and buying votes in the straw polls using money which was given to Scott Brown.P>

“Is This How Straw Polls are won? (Mitt folks buying votes?)
NEW ORLEANS -- I spoke to a young female delegate who said she planned to vote for
Romney in the poll. I asked her how she had ended up at the conference.
She said "Evangelicals for Mitt" had contacted her and offered to pay for her to have a
limited-access ticket -- so long as she agreed to vote for Romney in the straw poll.
Asked how "Evangelicals for Mitt" got her name, she said she didn't know. But she said
that she was on the email list for Romney, and speculated that the Romney team
had given out their email list. “

The two WORST Republican choices are Paul (whackjob) and Romney (mormon whackjob & psuede-shoe phony).

Anyone with any sense knows that. Neither will have a chance in any real poll. Where was Sarah, Liz Cheney and Michele Backmann? They are the front runners, obviously.
