Your wrong, this has been going on for a very long time in swimming. In the old days, the coaches picked girls whose parents didn’t care if the coach was good enough.
That’s an unfortunate situation that continues today. I suspect it’s easier now than ever, unless the coaches have always been good at telling when parents don’t care. I just can’t imagine parents like that (fortunately for me. I guess).
