Banned for life? Ahh how about some jail time here. Is the NCAA protecting these freaks?

Trunkless swimming at Catholic high schools was the norm, at least through the 1960s, in my experience.

I don’t think you went to a typical Catholic high school.

Chicagoland it was normal. And no schools were coed, but I don’t remember the norm for the girls.

Well hell, we ought to let swimming coaches marry (but not each other). That will solve the problem.

If they would let them marry they wouldn’t have this problem.

"Coincidentally perhaps, I once dated a guy who told me that his Catholic high school swim team coach made the boys’ team practice in the nude (ewww . . .). They suspected afterward that he had some unsavory tendencies."

Ya know, in spite of myself....I read your reply and the first thing that flashed through my mind was a scene from the old series "Friends". Joey, the ditzy actor-dude, was describing to his male friends (Ross, Chandler) how his tailor would measure him for trousers, including the tailor...um...."lifting" his "stuff" and moving it to one side, then the other, as he measured his inseam. As his friends looked at him slack-jawed, he says "Well isn't that normal?"

Ross deadpans "Yes..........in prison!!!!!!"

Many parents think “sports” is babysitting.

“Are they going to blame Pope Benedict for this too?”

I don’t see the parallel with the Catholic Church troubles, other than apparently complaints and charges were not taken seriously - and should have been, and there are a large number of innocent victims.

Some do, most I know believe sports are excellent skills to learn while growing up and being part of the community.

We have taxed both parents out of the house and now ask why are unsupervised children not behaving and others being predators to them.

Both my parents worked full time...I was never unsupervised..my mother always said, “Its easier NOT to discipline or supervise a child, it takes more effort and time to be an involved parent.”

Kudos to you two!

Trunkless swimming at Catholic high schools was the norm,

I went to Lane Tech in Chicago (a public school) in the 70s - it was still nude swimming there. I tell kids that these days and they just don't believe it.

I wonder how big a part the unions played in keeping these charges out of the their files? Unions excel at preserving the jobs of lowlifes who would be fired from any private employer.
