Thanks! I finally got it—and it is a very good speech that I really enjoyed.

From the other thread:
"Sarah comes on at the 23:50 mark. The crowd LOVED her vast nuclear experience remark.... LOL."
And my reply:
And her comment and facial expression at minute 47:00 are priceless. The word was no doubt put in the text and she knew exactly how to play it. Unfortunately, I think only a part of the audience got it immediately. It took a second for them to figure it out. It will be played on the shows like Leno and Greta.
You have to go to the link for the "word" -- I'm not going to say it.

Good, I won’t tell either.

That’s how she said it, were you listening?
To: onyx
Sarah is really hitting her stride. Her delivery and content just keep on getting better and better. She’s certainly proving that she is ‘man’ enough to get in the Kenyan’s face.

So, "you betcha" she is woman enough to handle him

I have now heard the sound bite on Hannity, Limbaugh and it
will be repeated tonight: she says New- Cue - Lur
That is just plain ignorant .

Loved the speech, but Alexander Graham Bell was a British subject when he invented the telephone.

Sounded the other (Northern) way to me. It must be killing you that she’s kicking so much ass, my sympathies.

Thanks! I finally got it to play...

New American Dictionarys list more than one way of pronouncing the word nuclear one of which is the way President Bush pronounced it. It is not ignorance.
Brits pronounce a lot of words that are not the way they are spelled, e.g, aluminum which they mispronounce a-lu-min-ium.
JFK, John Kerry and millions of New Englanders add letters that do not belong, mispronouncing single-syllable, three letter words like “law” rendering it “lahr”; “saw” as “sahr”. Worse than that, they take out letters that do belong, pronouncing words like park, heart, cart, dart, and fart as pock, hot, cot, dot and faht. The poor ol’ verbally challenged Ivy-Leaguer JFK couldn’t even pronounce Cuba right. He called it Cuber.
Is all that ignorance, Bainridge?

Thanks for posting this. She was great.

Nice try.
It is incorrect to say New- cue- lur.I imagine there are people in the Pacific Northwest who pronounce the word correctly. You are referring to a regional accent. That is a different topic.
To: Radtechtravel
Standard American English does NOT allow for the incorrect pronunciation of the word.
You had to ignore all of the google entries to find something that said some people pronounce it as new-cue-lur.
That does not make it “acceptable”.
Maybe she should just correct herself !
To: Bainbridge
Ever hear of a colloquialism?
