The legal justification for sparing child molesters the death penalty is to potentially save the life of their victims. i.e. a molester would stop short of murdering their victim if they knew they would be spared, otherwise, they would figure they had nothing to lose by killing their victim.

While said reasoning is sound were appropriate punishment administered, too often it is not.

That is why the minimum penalty should be castration, and not the chemical type which requires ongoing medication-- the type which my brother and I used to do on a ranch when I wrestled the calves to the ground and he extracted the rocky mountain oysters.
