Gov. Bob McDonnell has conceded a "major omission" for not noting slavery in declaring April Confederate History Month in Virginia.
As part of his mea culpa, McDonnell inserted into the proclamation a paragraph condemning slavery as "evil and inhumane" and blaming it as the cause of the Civil War.

Karl Marx and his Communist followers believed that history was to be rewritten to beat opponents and control the masses.
We know which Party has been following this Marxist Manipulation.
Fact the Democrats were the primary slave holders
The Southern Democrat created the Ku Klux Klan.
Southern Democrats killed Northern Students in Mississippi.
Democratic led police beat Martin Luther King in Atlanta and assasinated this Great American Leader.
Democrat Mayors and Governors blocked the school house doors to prevent desegregated schools.
It is our responsibility as Republicans, Conservatives Moderates and even Liberals to protect our freedoms and oust the Old Form Democrats and the New Age Communists including the one in the Oval Office who shame our name. The denigrate country and the rule of Law, to wit the CONSTITUTION!
WE MUST SPREAD THE WORD on all venues.
Well that’s nice of him to not want to leave the Democrat’s slavery history out.
This is a good chance to point out the role of the North and the Democrats in the salve trade.
Can we include urban crime rates as part of the history month held every February?
Are they sorry They broke their promise of no tax hikes on folks earning less than $250,000 ? NOT!!!!
Hmmmm, no outcry for the governor to include a statement
regarding state’s rights....oh that’s right the party line
is it was all about slavery.
No big deal; the malcontents didn’t vote for him anyway.
The Emancipation Proclamation only freed the slaves in states that in rebellion against the United States or the north . It did not free any slaves held by the northerners . Lincoln's compromise to the slavery issue was to use money from the Federal Treasury to buy the slaves from the slave owners and recolonize them in South America .
Nothing good will come of your little rant
So, is the Governor going to include the FACT that the tariff or tax on goods manufactured in the South and sold in the North wasn’t abolished until 1962?

“But the tariff, like abolition, was also a question of honor. The disingenuous arguments of the protectionists tended, like those of the abolitionists, to dwell upon the moral inferiority and stupidity of southerners in comparison with wise, righteous, industrious New Englanders. Calhoun did not engage in that type of polemic, but he replied to it, again in the Exposition: ‘We are told, by those who pretend to understand our interest better than we do, that the excess of production and not the Tariff, is the evil which afflicts us. ... We would feel more disposed to respect the spirit in which the advice is offered, if those from whom it comes accompanied it with the weight of their example. They also, occasionally, complain of low prices; but instead of diminishing the supply, as a remedy for the evil, demand an enlargement of the market, by the exclusion of all competition.’ “
[And some of you can’t understand the animosity of the South? The referenced article should be helpful.]
It’s about slavery ONLY if it’s about NORTHERN slavery over Southerners. It’s got nothing to do with color, it has everything to do with control.
Without the tariff, Wall Street would be in Richmond. And all those big banks lining the streets of NYC would be in the South, too.
Here we go. 1,500+ post thread - what was the cause of the American Civil War?
When I graduated I entered active duty, (ROTC commission) and traveled to Mississippi for Communications School. I remember many people commented about my Jersey license plates and whether I was a Republcan Northerner. My answer was "Well I'm Italian. How does that count?"
Isn't interesting that "Tea Party" folks are hood wearing, torch burning, racists!
Wouldn’t that be a topic for whatever proclamation he issued for Black History Month?
An idea also floated by Thomas Jefferson 40 years earlier.
The slaveowners were kindhearted after all...after flogging their slaves, they would offer them some salve to rub where it hurt.
The Reverend Samuel Burchard in 1884 famously called the Democrats the party of "rum, Romanism, and rebellion." He should have said "rum, Romanism, rebellion, and Vaseline," but wanted to keep the alliteration.
Considering that is prohibited by Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution then how did they get away with that for 175 years?
