Well, that didn't take long. After Democratic supermajorities rammed through their health care bill, Republicans were full of sound and fury about how this injustice will not stand. Even John McCain was on board, telling a television interviewer, "Outside the Beltway the American people are very angry and they don't like it and we are going to try to repeal this."
But in the GOP, cooler heads always prevail. What these Republican heads want to cool down is the campaign to repeal the health care takeover. Reports the Associated Press: "Top Republicans are increasingly worried that GOP candidates this fall might be burned by a fire that's roaring through the conservative base: demand for the repeal of President Barack Obama's new health care law."

They’re no better than the traitors who passed it. They want to hide behind politics as usual mantra but I think they want to hold onto the power and cash the same as Democrats.
Yes. They STILL are. They ALWAYS have. They will say anything they think we want to hear right now - just to win in the fall. Then, they will go back to throwing conservatives under the bus. This is a cycle that has been repeating itself for as long as I can remember.
We might think that we can "take back" the GOP - but I do not see any evidence that will happen. As long as we keep repeating the same behaviour (voting these people back in office), we will keep wandering in the wilderness.
No, they are the ones we need to get rid of, once the small government types take over the party. Look, you can be unprincipled and be effective. One problem with the "Top GOP" people, is that they are unprincipled and completely, totally incompetent politically. But they believe they own the GOP and have a birthright to run it. Just think of Iowahawk's T. Coddington Van Voorhees IV.
Iowahawk nails the GOP here from March 31:
January: REVOLT!
February: REJECT!
March: REPEAL!!
Late March: REPEAL... and Replace!
April: Revamp.
May: Revise!
June: Rigorous Review!
July: Revisit?
August: Revise... but not before a reasonable review!
September: Review, Renovate and Renew!
October: Retain and reinforce!
November: RE-ELECT! (Please?)
December: heh. Retards.
When the public says they are for health care reform they mean they want the price reduced not pay for someone elses. I just ripped off an email to John Cornyn for all the good it will do.
Folkes we need to light up the swicth boards of these politicians and hold their feet to the fire.
Pretty much. I read the original article from the 0bamabot Associalistic Press. It was pure propaganda, disinformation and dirty tricks, with no sources, cooked up by Rahm Emmanuel, trying to pass of as news "and analysis". It's worthless. I wonder why the American Spectator is allowing their pages to be used to push this crap. Someone has gone to sleep on the job there.
the GOP does not seem to realize this is their LAST bite at the apple with Conservatives. If they blow it the Tea Party is going to become official and the GOP is going to go the way of the Whigs.
Cornyn claimed afterwards, in a National Review article, he is definitely for repeal—the original source for that quote from Cornyn, IIRC, is the Huffington Post....
My point is this: the vague use of terms “top GOP” and one quote without follow-up or additional material, would certainly make one think the GOP is folding—but that really isn’t the case.
If it were the case, BO and his poodles wouldn’t continue their campaign to make people love this pile of $*!+.

Love the animation. FIRE THE RINO in Nov.
“Tell me how ANYONE in the Republican Party risked ANYTHING substantial to fight it.”
Except for some impassioned rhetoric AFTER the ink was drying.....they didn’t do a damn thing to inform and warn the people that the Constitution is in the shredder and freedom as we know it is DEAD. They fought hard on their knees...../s

Ok... I understand.

I am so totally spitting nails!!!! No wonder people are looking for a third party candidate in districts aroung the US. THis is the old Republican “roll over and die” approach!
This Oliver Garland dude said: “True conservatives are not radicals; they respect tradition and work for stable reform to fix institutions.”
WEll, this bill was not passed according to tradition. It was remmed down our throats via buyouts, armtwisting and favors despite our collective screams not to pass it.
I have seen this time and time again. The Demons beat them up, fight dirty and twist rules at every turn, and they always want to take the high road.
Republicans = wimps, sissies.
Oh I am so freaking MAD!!!!
I have a feeling that the names on this list will be very useful.
It is WAY too soon to presume anything so negative.
The Republicans wrote amendment after amendment that got shot down, did everything Constitutionally available to them, and voted in solidarity against it.
Accusing the Republicans of "wanting this too" is horse manure.
Let's just give up, vote third party and increase the number of demonrats who will give us full bore communism.........
Then we can really, really, really be mad at the Republcans!
*rolls eyes*
Name names. Who are these Top Pubs?
