Republicans Against Repeal
The American Spectator ^ | 4-8-2010 | W. James Antle, III

Posted on 04/08/2010 3:48:53 AM PDT by Bratch

Well, that didn't take long. After Democratic supermajorities rammed through their health care bill, Republicans were full of sound and fury about how this injustice will not stand. Even John McCain was on board, telling a television interviewer, "Outside the Beltway the American people are very angry and they don't like it and we are going to try to repeal this."

But in the GOP, cooler heads always prevail. What these Republican heads want to cool down is the campaign to repeal the health care takeover. Reports the Associated Press: "Top Republicans are increasingly worried that GOP candidates this fall might be burned by a fire that's roaring through the conservative base: demand for the repeal of President Barack Obama's new health care law."

If we get enough conservatives elected and put conservatives in the leadership, we’ll drag the rest of the RINOs kicking and screaming across the finish line.

Maybe what some of you on here say is true. Maybe the GOP isn’t worth saving and what we need is a new party!

Conservatives and moderates need to take a close look at the back stabbing GOP. The scum in the RNC/GOP DC elites are more in favor of obama than against. If you dont think this is true look at the attacks on Marco Rubio lead by the RNC and Cornyn.

Steele, Cornyn, Burr, McConnel, Graham, McCain and a few others will do anything to help obama.

Well they can either get on board with Repeal and Replace The Tyranny or be replaced. IMHO if you compromise with tyranny you get tyranny.

Like I said before, they won’t repeal it. Long ago, they helped Democrats to pass immoral and unconstitutional laws that have done terminal damage to many families and to our economy.

“But in the GOP, cooler heads always prevail.”

This should read “But in the GOP, RINOs always prevail.”
RINOs must be sent packing, no exceptions. IMHO

That is fine. They’ll be voted out of office along with the other gutless political traitors that gave us this mess.

If Republicans cannot repeal an unpopular bill where many of the costs are front-loaded, many of the benefits are yet to come, and where the creation of another entitlement is as detrimental to their own partisan self-interest as it is to the nation's finances, then conservatives cannot count on Republicans to undo very much of what they routinely denounce and campaign against.

The Republican Party will simply be the saucer that cools the Tea Party. Cooler heads will have prevailed -- and so will have liberalism.

This says it all.

Thank you for pointing out how far we have drifted from real integrity, Patriotism, and love for the Constitution which used to restrict our modern usurpers.

I have heard that since George H. Bush. Problem is Americans don’t elect Constitutional Conservatives. We elect liars who make promises. break them, and then get reelected. Have we learned our lesson yet? We fixin to see.

This law needs to be incinerated, not replaced. Obamacare lite won't cut it either.

AS much as the public seems to dislike the law (by up to 60% according to some polls), the fact is, the majority want to see "some kind" of healthcare reform. I don't think that "repeal and return to the status quo" is going to be a winner. Sure, with some of us it will, but for alot of others who don't like this bill, something has to be offered. Alot of the opposition isn't because it was SOMETHING, it was because what they got SUCKS. I think the R's need to come up with their own, free market based reforms. They had alot of ideas on the table that were ignored by the D's and the MSM, lets get them out..
