I’m generally OK with the idea of Net Neutrality, but the FCC wasn’t the way to go about it.
While I am a free market capitalist, the requirements to treat all data equally would fall mainly on companies that experience a government-sanctioned monopoly or duopoly. Where I live, I’ve got two choices for broadband: Verizon DSL or Atlantic Broadband cable. I’m very happy with Verizon DSL, but if they started limiting my access to resources, I would only have one other method of recourse. Many have fewer than I do.
Yes, you’re pretty fortunate. Where I live, I can only get dial-up or satellite.
Join/start a rural wireless project, stick an antenna on your roof and increase the coverage area.
The solution is not to regulate the monopoly (which is "net neutrality" in a nutshell) but to eliminate it.
