I remember, as a 13, almost 14 year old boy, travelling to DeWitt, Iowa with my mother and a couple of siblings to our aunt and uncle's farm.
I remember also one of my cousins spitting at me the word "denocrap" because we came from Boston and ... well ... that's what we were.
It didn't mean much of anything to me other than, I forever have this idea that Iowans are conservatives.
It was on that vacation I experienced my first drag race, and met "Big Daddy Roth" and actually attended a "River City" type community fair, complete with the old farm boy greased pig chase. (River City of Music Man fame)
So ... it has been very difficult for me to understand ... what happened?

The rural, traditional values and activities you witnessed while in in DeWitt have been steadily overtaken by the post-modern cesspool of values of the librul cities- and the cities are the population centers that out-vote the rural areas.
The populations in our cities need to be culled, which will happen if CWII ever breaks out- because the cities will be the bloody battlegrounds.

So ... it has been very difficult for me to understand ... what happened? Although Iowa socially conservative state, there are considerable number of labor union types (like who used to work on railroads) and farmers receiving government subsidies who vote for Democrats. As a result, Democrats often get elected and currently are in complete control of the state government. And, Democrats wherever they are promote an anti-Christian, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda.
