Letter from home .... ALPHA COMPANY 3RD SPECIAL TROOPS BATTALION - Afghanistan

Being in Gorbuz, Afghanistan is easier for me than garrison. I`ve always worked better in a combat zone. It is nice to be away from a large FOB, all the people, and the higher ranks. I like the simple living that comes with deployments and being away from the everyday busy life. It’s hard to be away from family, but it’s a time to gather thoughts and priorities, realizing what life is all about and that there is so much to be thankful for. We all eat really well here. The cooks make excellent food for us. PT seems to be a little difficult at times do to the limited space, time, and equipment, yet we still make it happen. Physical fitness is very important especially when going on foot patrols and working in such high altitudes. I look forward to receiving mail. Our mail takes a little longer to get here. It is something to look forward to and it feels like Christmas when it finally does come. Little things like a card, and some snacks from home really raise moral.

Thanks for posting! Now, you say “son-in-law”. Is he married to your daughter in the Iraq photos? You must be so proud of both :-)

Thanks! Yes, he married my daughter. That's my son-in-law. I am proud. I'm proud of that generation, I'm proud of the those kids that are trashed as 'basement boys'. We've raised a generation of patriots that aren't leeches. Don't despair, our newest generation is engaged and aware of the apathy and the 'we said it so it's true mentality perceived on purpose by the msm is over.'

The libs game is over. They're thrashing.

Very nice little note, Indy.

Andrae repeats a very common refrain - when you get a lot of brass (or bosses) together, things become complicated. Going out on missions makes life simple, again.

He sounds like a good young man, and you’ve every right to be proud of him.

Bless you all!

He has a facebook page if you'd like to learn more. Warning, the language is 'army'.

Hey, what do you expect from those on the front line? Pretty Please? Oh, we’ll give up our nukes, pretty please, will you?

Exactly!

I’d be pleased as punch if the media would get out of our battle lines & let our troops do their jobs.

Sorry, my son just finished ‘Lone Survivor’ yesterday & we were discussing how media pressure & concerns of persecution affect our soldiers on the battle feild.

I’m trying to talk to my sister in law about her ‘middle of the road’ stance. There’s no middle anymore. Either you want to give away freedom, or you’ll fight. There’s no more reaching across the aisle. What’s Lone Survivor?

Here's a link on Amazon to the book. It's a must read. *Lone Survivor*

Info on Marcus Luttrell.

I just now looked at your homepage.

Thank you for you & your families service!

I’m a tad confused....you, your husband & your grown daughter have served?
