Where would we be without Lucy Jones to explain it all to us? :-)

It’s as though the audience for this article never, ever experienced an earthquake or 50 in their lives.

I only experienced one that I knew in Ct that shook me out of bed, one that I had to be told about in Aneheim in 87

Yep. Saw a documentary this morning about the 1906 San Francisco quake.
Since then , there's been 150 inches of plate movement that will let loose a big one in the near future.

I’ve been through this so many times, I could write the article. I could even step in for Dr. Jones if she were not available. LOL. I’m not ridiculing them at all for publishing this, though. I even find Lucy’s appearances reassuring. She’s like the Mom of all of us after an EQ.

150 inches... whoa. That’s probably what causes global warming, NOT human activity. ;^)
Geology fascinates me. I even felt relieved after the quake yesterday: we’ve been waiting for this so long. We’re just that much closer to THE BIG ONE.

The aftershock early this morning must have been the one that woke me up. It was probably the strongest I felt since the original quake.

I don’t quite understand that statement, Race, if you don’t mind. Maybe I’m having PTSD after yesterday’s “Holy Roller” as I call it, haha.
It’s hard for me to imagine what a lifetime without EQs is like.

What time was that? I missed it, was distracted by the heavy rainfall. (Clear out now.)

I’m so happy that my son is traveling in S. California with a high school group this week.

Don’t heavy rains have something to do with lubricating the plates?

Only if you leave them out in the back yard.

I’m gonna say it was about 4am give or take a little. The bed was rocking back and forth for about 10-15 seconds and after I checked to see if I was alone I realized it was another quake.

There has been one roughly every 3-4 minutes since yesterday.

Where would we be without Lucy Jones to explain it all to us? :-) She was all over the news yesterday. She seemed awfully obnoxious to me.

‘We need to remember that every earthquake we have has the possibility of triggering another earthquake.”
And in the recorded history of mankind how many times has that happened?
How about my unscientific guess of NEVER!!!!!
