“This is AWESOME. The cases don’t need to be destroyed, and they can be bought by the ton.”

Being “sold as scrap” means being shredded, not being sold in usable condition.

“Why are they worried about empty cases when you buy brand new Lake City green tips for $860/2000 rounds?”

Reloading is cheaper and generally results in better ammunition than the fails-QC sweepings from Lake City.

I understand what I’m talking about, I bid on these cases.

“None of the funds available to the Department of Defense may be used to demilitarize or dispose of M-1 Carbines, M-1 Garand rifles, M-14 rifles, .22 caliber rifles, .30 caliber rifles, or M-1911 pistols, or to demilitarize or destroy small arms ammunition or ammunition components that are not otherwise prohibited from commercial sale under Federal law, unless the small arms ammunition or ammunition components are certified by the Secretary of the Army or designee as unserviceable or unsafe for further use.”

I love it! "Feed all the Beretta Nine's you want to the crusher, just so long as you don't destroy any GOOD guns!"

No, you don’t. They are referring to cases shred on post by ATK with the funds kept on the base, not brass sold on the surplus market throught Government Liquidation.

Apparently not.

The NRA is trying to help guys like you continue to be able to bid on these cases instead of having the cases de-milled, or destroyed, for scrap metal.

ATK was moving de-mill equipment onto these bases and destroying the cases so they could then send the de-milled brass to a plant to get new brass made at a reduced cost.

But you knew all that and still want the NRA the STFU?

I’d like the NRA to quit asking me for more money.
