President Obama or Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. should declare publicly whether executive privilege has been invoked in the Justice Department's refusal to release documents showing why voter-intimidation charges against the New Black Panther Party were dismissed, says the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
Declaring an impasse in negotiations between the commission and the department, Commission Chairman Gerald A. Reynolds said the Justice Department has "repeatedly refused" to provide any basic information regarding the case, instead asserting "vague and generalized privileges" that do not apply.
"The actual basis for the department's continued refusal to cooperate with the commission remains unclear," Mr. Reynolds said in a letter last week to Mr. Holder. "For example, has the president invoked executive privilege over the materials that the commission is seeking? If that is the case, the president or the attorney general must so state.
"The department's continued refusal to provide the requested information will lead to a conflict of interest, whereby the target of the subpoena the department can evade its statutory obligation to the commission by refusing to respond to or enforce the commission's subpoena," he said.
Mr. Reynolds asked Mr. Holder to respond by April 12 on whether he intends to cooperate in the inquiry "as is required by law," whether he would direct his subordinates to do so, and if he intends to allow Justice Department employees to respond to the commission's subpoenas to testify.
He said the department had "rebuffed each offer made by the commission" to meet to discuss and resolve the issues.
Justice Department officials did not respond to e-mails from The Washington Times seeking comment on the commission's letter.
In January, the department refused to turn over documents sought by the commission to explain why a civil complaint was dismissed...

I believe that Obama’s rationale for all of this is “I won.” This is just another manifestation of the would be dictator mindset.

"Stonewalling" = "covering up for, protecting"
This is the main problem I have with blacks in high office, and I have made careful note of it over the years; whether it's the "mayor", "governor" or "president", blacks tend to govern only for other blacks.
A white official gets pounded if s/he is not "diverse" or "inclusive", but black leaders unashamedly favor and promote other blacks, and seemingly for no other reason than skin color.
That - to me - makes them the "racists".
Insofar as barack obama goes concerning ACORN, SEIU, Black Panthers, etc., we may as well face it, we don't have obama as a President, we have a "mob boss" of the "obama crime syndicate".
His whole "regime" is corrupt from the oval office, to the "czars" to his vote buying intimidation buddies in the unions.
It's "Chicago in D.C." season, and the protectionism racket is in full bloom.
Holder will do his usual bidding for "der fuhrer" and sweep this one under the rug too. Does anyone know whatever happened to that white inspector general that obama fired for ratting on one of his black friends? I don't.
Something has most of Washington spooked. Congressmen are shaking in their boots; on one side their constituents are mad at them for voting irresponsibly, and on the other side they are scared to cross the PRo (Pelosi, Reid, obama) regime. They are scared enough of something to sacrifice their careers over it.
So, why is the administration so scared of the TEA party movement; well my thinking is that it is because the TEA party movement is NOT AFRAID of them...and they thrive on fear and intimidation.
It's working...keep the focus and keep marching toward D.C.

You're correct! Obama has surrounded himself with thugs as advisors and czars, typical Chicago style. He and they blatantly break laws and then stonewall when confronted.
Gerald Walpin is still waiting for his day in court and a federal judge is stonewalling for Zer0. Walpin is a sharp attorney and won't let this go away, he'll eventually prevail. A thread I posted on this recently.

One of the benefits of FR is the sayings people come up with.
The “Just Us” Department is a perfect label for the racist attitudes displayed.
Congrats !

Well said, this on one of the many problems that needs to be considered when we elect any candidate that may show basis that cannot be overcome due to their personal experiences.
After all, if there is a different set of standards for minorities who hold office, then we need to identify ahead of time those standards, and vote accordingly. Go ahead and call this racist, I call it common sense.

The party members have not been available for comment. The department obtained an injunction against Mr. Samir Shabazz that prohibits him from brandishing a weapon outside a polling place until 2012. What?
To: Starstruck
That’s a real head shaker. The panthers were clearly intimidating voters and it was caught on video.

“as is required by law,”
Another impeachable offense. People are keeping score and whispering. I’m beginning to believe that king obuma will be the first president forcibly removed from office by the military, on orders from the court.

I hear you and agree, he’s ignored the law on various things.
