Using a slightly different communication style when speaking to different audiences is probably just smart.

Maybe, but I always thought is was smartest just to be yourself. And maybe that is the problem here. BO is simply so vacuous that there is no there there. Most of us go through a stage (often in college years) of existential brooding which usually gives us enough to answer the "who am I" question. Perhaps Bro has never done that, or isn't smart enough to do it.

Generally good advice. But not if it means you show up talking jive to white audiences while running for political office.

Even business leaders are taught to modify their communications depending on the audience, for example the Briggs-Myers communications courses.

An honest man can modify his communication style for the audience. But the message stays the same. He still says who he is and what he is for.

Obama's problem is not that he changes communication style depending on the audience. It's that he doesn't mean what he says. If he showed himself as the gay marxist usurper his actions reveal him to be, he would have been laughed off the stage.
