Isn’t the concept of an android to be part human and part machine?

“...unveiled a female android that can laugh and smile as it mimics a person’s expressions.”
We still have no way of telling it apart from Nanzi Pelose.

Geminoid TMF was modelled on a young Japanese woman, who was present at the unveiling today. 'I felt like I had a twin sister,' the woman said afterwards. Yeah, it's interesting to her now. But just wait until the adroid decides to kill her so it can take over her life.

There are some impressive advancements in android robotics. Strong muscle movements can be made with pistons, spraying a small amount of concentrated hydrogen peroxide on a catalyst.
Weak, smooth and flowing muscle motions can be done with rubber tubes wrapped in a fiber sheath, inflated or deflated with air. Bunched together, they can act much like facial muscle groups, and their opposing muscle groups.
A big advance is in subdividing the “brain” of the robot into three parts. Only the “primitive” part is actually inside the robot’s body. The “mid-brain”, handling much more complicated functions, are in local computers. Then the “upper brain” is an Internet connection to a central computer.
