According to Bloomberg News, the Obama administration has zeroed in on three candidates to replace Justice John Paul Stevens, who now says he "will surely" retire during Obama's presidency, and two are women.
The front-runner is Solicitor General Elena Kagan and the other two are federal appellate judges Diane Wood and Merrick Garland.

I wont be surprised if it’s Kagan, but as far as I’m concerned, her determined effort to keep military recruiters off the campus of Harvard Law school disqualify her.

But confirmation depends on whether the GOP members of the Judiciary Committee feel as I do. If they are horrified as I am, Obummer would do well to choose someone who is not so blatantly disrespectful of our military.
