You all know how much we love the bar Sidetracks here in Boystown. In a lot of ways, its like our little clubhouse, where we plan many an adventure and get the scoop on all sorts of things here in Boystown, especially on Showtunes and Comedy nights, which we love. Thats when the VJs play little clips of Broadway musicals for people to sing-a-long to, or snippets of comedy routines from TV for people to laugh at. Unless theyre clips of Janeane Garofalo, who isnt, and has never been funny, in which case youd just hear crickets.

He wasn’t looking where he was going. He was too busy look out at his admirers.
I would like to but it is on video tape and beyond my capabilities currently.
I do occassionally search youtube for it and have never seen it.
The MSM began portraying GWB as an incoherent fool before he was ever elected. Clips of him fumbling over his words were played and replayed mercilessly and with palpable glee. One time during the campaign of 2000, though, I saw a clip of Algore fumbling over his words that was far worse than anything I’d ever seen Bush do. It was the most awkward, painful thing to watch; as though he were a stutterer experiencing a pretty severe block and he just couldn’t get out of it. Unfortunately for Bert, it was live television and his buddies in the MSM couldn’t do anything about it at that moment. But you can be sure that they helped him out by burying that clip. *I* never saw it again, anyway, and I KNOW we all would have seen it replayed ad nauseum had it been W instead of Bert.

Boy, THAT's a stretch! For one thing, he doesn't HAVE a sense of humor - and a narcassist would never, even in jest, make fun of himself.
I notice the secret service guy in back of him didn't bother to jump forward to help him - how did he know but what he'd taken a shot?
If you look at the windows of the white limo, his white shirt never really goes down very far. He is crouching the whole time and then pops up right as he comes out. The SS guys were likely in on the prank. He didn’t trip, fall, or hit the ground.
I call shenanigans.
There doesn’t seems to be much of a reaction by his retinue to the “fall”. And no ‘post-fall’ check to see if he was okay. The stride continues as he comes back, seemingly without pause.
The video looks ‘odd’ as well. Possibly manipulated.
Feh, I just don’t buy it.
You can see him walking if you look through the windows of the vehicle. He didn’t fall. None of the SS guys reacted as if he fell.
I found it on the internet, the video is so bad that it is almost useless, but study the first 3 seconds and you will see Rodney King get up and lunge at Powell.

NBD...He was probably just going down on one of his SS guys.
>”I bet that no one here saw the 13 seconds that the national media cut from that video.”<
It wasn’t until the night of the riots that I saw the part that showed Rodney King lunging towards the police (I don’t recall the station, but it was on cable). This, of course, was after I’d seen the beating video (with that part suppressed) hundreds of times.
My thought was, “You mean to tell me that this has been on the tape all along and only now you’re showing it to us!” I figure what happened was that once the riots started, and people were being killed in the streets, somebody at the network decided that it was time to try to cool things off a bit.
Only then did they show the part that tends to support the police (or at least proves that their response wasn’t unprovoked — I believe some of the police were at fault, and should have been severely disciplined for using excessive force, but not sent to prison). I may have seen it again a couple more times that night but don’t recall ever seeing it again after the riots ended.
[If you or others have copies of this part, I hope you’ll put it on YouTube. So far all I see there is the anti-police version.]
It’s sometimes hard to imagine just how low the mainstream media will stoop in promoting their political agenda. To have repeatedly shown the beating part without showing the lunging part fundamentally distorted the story.
Thanks for that link. When the RealPlayer video first played, it didn’t run smoothly, and I missed the beginning. Once it had loaded well, though, I started it again several times and could see what happened.
By looking for “George Holliday” I’ve found an flv version on YouTube that may be easier to see — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZDrZDEqeKk
The part that shows King standing up and charging is clear enough. It happens in the first two seconds before the video becomes blurry.
At the beginning of the video King is on the ground in the left quarter of the screen (with his head screened by a policeman standing between him and camera, and with another policeman at his feet). Suddenly — just a second or so into the video — King leaps to his feet and charges the policeman who was at his feet (I called it lunging before, but I really think it qualifies as a charge). That policeman meets the charge by swinging his nightstick like a right-handed baseball player. Then the video becomes blurry. When they are back in focus again (at about second 14), they’ve moved to the right, and King is on the ground again.
This is the 6'4", 250 pound, King lunging at the cop that then started hitting him with his club, King is the man on the left in the light colored pants. Not many people ever saw this 3 seconds of the video and many people died as a result.
I know about the missing portion of the Rdoney King tape.
One more, of many reasons, why I am totally fed up with State-run media.
