FIRST of all, there's no way that I'm buying your suggested assumption that Obama's family didn't tell him where he's from. If he didn't know, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. His wife seems to know for certain. He knows. Bank on it; he knows.
So, what happens IF we actually DID find out that Obama's a Kenyan?
A. Obama is no longer President. Effective IMMEDIATELY.
B. Biden is President. Effective IMMEDIATELY.
C. EVERY Executive Order Obama has signed becomes null and void.
D. EVERY Executive Appointment Obama has made becomes null and void.
E. EVERY piece of Legislation that Obama has signed becomes null and void.
F. EVERY other agreement, of any kind, upon which Obama has placed his signature, acting in his capacity as President of the United States, becomes immediately void, and of no effect.
ALL of the fallout from the above actions would then land squarely upon the Resolute Desk of President Biden, and he would need to decide, for each item, whether he will reaffirm Obama's original decision, or not. With the pressure that the public has brought to bear thus far, I do not believe that Biden would reaffirm all of Obama's acts in office.
Would Biden sign the healthcare travesty back into Law if he were going to have to wear that albatross?
Would Biden reappoint Sotomayor if he were going to have to wear that albatross?
With millions of acres of Federal land having suddenly reverted to the States, would Biden re-appropriate it if he were going to have to wear that albatross?
On and on and on down the line it would go, with Biden having to choose to be the hero or the goat at each point.
All of that alone would keep Biden occupied for several weeks, after which we would, I think, discover him to be even more fainting and aimless than his predecessor. So much so that I think even the Republican Congressional minority could steamroll a Biden White House.
Then we get to November 2010, take back a majority in at least one of the two houses of Congress, and Biden's a lame duck until 2012 when the GOP regains the White House.
My relatives were from Italy and hubbies from Canada. Both sides always said "the old country".
But I can concede it wouldn't be a "modern expression".
