i have always been ashamed to say McCain comes from very solid Mississippi stock ..I think we even have some monuments to his kin over that little conflict from way back

Like Camp McCain off I-55 between Jackson, Miss. and Memphis?

I would love to feel confident that the soul of the republican party is redeemable but I am just not there. Every day some dufus puts on a marvelous demonstration on why its called the stupid party. Steel with his
I am judged harsher by the party because I am black like Obama to Cornyn defending Nancy Pelosi and the health care bill as not radical this is after he declared it not recindable. Add Lynsey Grahm working against the people on Amnesty and cap and trade McCain, Romney, Snow, Collins major intellectual rants. I think the party needs to be challenged/feel threatened from the outside before they will embrace conservatism fully. The establishment is just to corrupt to reform and they have a genetic distain for conservatives. Jeb Bush even dug up “the era of Reagan is over “ tripe when discussing the direction for the party a few weeks ago. And look at the state of CA the lead republican candidate agains Boxer is pro gay marriage and the candidates candidates for governor are center left when you look under their facade.

As the saying goes if they had ears to hear it might be worth trying. Better they we rattle their tree from the outside I think. God knows they spend more time romancing non republicans than party conservatives.

However if your inside and working hard my blessing and prayers for success.

Yes, I understand both your reasons, and your rational....it’s just that I feel that both of us can be more effective expressing our opinions from the inside rather than from the outside. from where a politician is even less likely to listen to our voices, since he is never sure that we are really potential voters for his/her election.

I am of the opinion that politicians are simple creatures, none too bright no matter the label, and that we need to be as clear as to the direction we want to go less they mis-interprete our meaning..... Sitting out an election to “teach them a lesson” only makes the next guy think that he needs to be more like the Dem that won to have any chance at election victory!

California elections this year feature multiple candidates running against a very beatable Babs Boxer, each of whom has an almost equal chance of being selected as the Republican nominee..... because I can vote in the primary election I will able to vote for the one that meet my values... ie someone that respects the right to life among other things....

Sigh.....Meg Whitman is a Mitt Romney clone....Mitt even moved here to help her campaign... she’s a Ma. transplant that feels that she can buy her way into the Governorship by massive campaign spending ala Romney’s failed Presidential bid, and an almost non-stop smear campaign against her primary opponet....another Romney tactic.....

This morning I was happy to hear an endorsement of her opponet, Steve Poisner, by a Republican with known and consistant Conservative values.....Tom McClintock. At this time, except for the McClintock news, I am feeling like I don’t have a horse in the governors race....sigh!

Our fight for the soul of the Republican Brand begins in precinct level and extends through the primaries....it’s hard to exert pressure there if you are not there to apply the pressure.....

All the Politicians that you mentioned are also the ones that I wish removed from office by electing conservative Republican primary challengers for their seats.....

Witness JD Hayworth’s challenge for McCains seat, that has resulted in McCain’s phony conversion to Conservative ideals, and his attempt to hide behind Palins apron strings.... Think he doesn’t get it?.....He does, but if we re-elect him he’ll backslide tommorow....guarenteed.....

Think what a message it would send if he could be defeated in the primary! It would be the shot heard round the Republican world....a few more like that and even a witless Republican would wise up quick! In most states you can’t do that as an independant/ or a “third party” voter barred from voting in the Republican primary..... primaries are afterall a “party election to select their candidate for the General election......you as an independant/third party voter are not welcome.....

Working from the outside seem, to me , to be marginalizing yourself, and I believe it is self defeating proposition...just my perspective... I know that you and others on this forum believe otherwise.....

Nonethelesss I will continue to work for you/myself/ and our beloved Republic in the best way I know, just as I trust you will.....

May God continue to provide you his every Blessing.......

Thank you, Breto for allowin me to rant on......You are a stalwart fellow....
