Britain (not England btw) still has a navy.

Britain did not rely on the American supplies in 1982. They were appreciated but a small fraction of supplies and arms used.

Britain also has a large garrison that would cut an invasion to ribbons on the beach.

As of 2010[update] there were 87 commissioned ships in the Royal Navy, including aircraft carriers, a helicopter carrier, landing platform docks, ballistic missile submarines, nuclear fleet submarines, guided missile destroyers, frigates, mine counter-measures and patrol vessels.

39,100 Regulars and 3,600 Volunteers 19,560 Regular Reserve. There is always a Falkland Islands Patrol Vessel on deployment, currently the new vessel HMS Clyde.

One might think they would buff that garrison up now, maybe conduct some naval exercises in the area.

But the supplies they got, specifically the upgraded AIM-9 Sidewinders, were critical to allowing their harriers to engage the faster Argentine jets.
