Man. That is pretty tough, to marry into a situation like that because you see it as your only way out.
Well back in the days of the Soviet Union, it just wasn't very easy to get an exit permit to leave the country, because they knew their citizens wouldn't come back if they allowed them to leave. Even the Israelis had to in a way, bribe the Soviets before they let the Russian Jews emigrate to Israel.
Its kinda funny realy, bacause Khrushchev and Brezhnev and all these Soviet leaders keep telling everyone that the Soviet Union was this “workers paradise”, yet they had to use force to prevent their own people from escaping from Russia, and the East Germans shot so many of their own citizens who were trying to escape from these “workers paradises” into West Germany
