Doctor Tells Obama Supporters: Go Elsewhere for Health Care

Doctor tells Obama supporters: Go elsewhere for health care

A Mount Dora doctor posted a sign telling Obama health care supporters to go elsewhere.

Pissed Off Urologist

MOUNT DORA — A doctor who considers the national health-care overhaul to be bad medicine for the country posted a sign on his office door telling patients who voted for President Barack Obama to seek care "elsewhere."

"I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it."

The sign reads: "If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years."

Estella Chatman, 67, of Eustis, whose daughter snapped a photo of the typewritten sign, sent the picture to U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, the Orlando Democrat who riled Republicans last year when he characterized the GOP's idea of health care as, "If you get sick, America … Die quickly."

Chatman said she heard about the sign from a friend referred to Cassell after his physician recently died. She said her friend did not want to speak to a reporter but was dismayed by Cassell's sign.

"He's going to find another doctor," she said.

Cassell may be walking a thin line between his right to free speech and his professional obligation, said William Allen, professor of bioethics, law and medical professionalism at the University of Florida's College of Medicine.

Allen said doctors cannot refuse patients on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability, but political preference is not one of the legally protected categories specified in civil-rights law.

LOL. Yah. You must provide your services however you are told and to whoever you are told to at whatever price you are told and without saying anything about how you feel about it.

Well, he basically said that he won’t refuse care, just “if they turn around and walk away so be it”.

That should protect him, but in Amerika today who knows. I’m sure the Obamist IRS is going to love him come tax time.

The Dems favorite holiday, April 15 is coming up.

As I read it, he hasn’t REFUSED to treat anyone.
He simply put up a sign.

If someone voted for BHO and is proud of it, he or she should seek treatment elsewhere.

I wonder how long before a mob wants to ‘test’ him and comes into his office and “gets in his face” as their leader has ordered them to do, saying “Yeah, I voted for him. You treat me anyway...and FREE!”

If someone didn’t want my business and stated why, I would gladly take my business elsewhere. He has a right to treat who he wants.

So it is okay to post the same article over and over and over again? If so, I’ll start doing that myself!

Agree...everyone needs to understand that we can’t all sit around and FREEP 100% of the time. If we responsible conservatives don’t work, who will provide free healthcare for illegals and lazy f#cks?

It never hurts to recycle tops stories for those who may have missed them earlier. Easy enough to skip the ones you’ve already seen.

I was thinking the other day if I were in the position of hiring people to so some work around the house, painting, roofing etc. I would not want to hire Obama voters.....

Not to worry. Obama voters wouldn’t come looking for work, just a handout.

The search function isn't perfect. I've often made use of it, to no avail, trying to find older articles with known headlines.

If you search under “doctor,” all the threads appear no problem. But that’s ok, FR is a chatroom, anyway.
