My Internist in Asheville, NC. who see lots of medicare/medicade patients and is in an office alone, says last year he saw a total of 120 more patients and earned $8,000. less than the year before. Something’s got to give. He says he’s looking into going private.
My neighbor’s internist has a sign posted in his office: “We are no longer accepting any medicare or medicade patients.”
In addition to the insulting reimbursements and onerous paperwork burden, our no-show rate for Medicaid patients approached 85%.
Not that the verb is (happily) in the past tense.
We'll cut some incredible deals for those willing to pay cash, just to save us the man-hours.
Shalom.
My husband’s doctor started what he called VIP service. He is limiting himself to about 400 patients who are willing to pay $1500.00 extra per anum above and beyond insurance. You are supposed to get extra attention and service for the fee. This started at the first of the year and I told my husband at the time we were going to see doctors making moves to avoid the damage this healthcare bill would cause.
