Massa's letter of resignation was read on the House floor on March 9.

IIRC, the gov is required by law to set the date for a special election within 30 to 40 days of the seat becoming vacant.

So the clock is ticking.

Note to the state GOP: Have that writ ready to go if the gov refuses to meet his obligation, or we will.
