Article II, sec. 1 of the U. S. Constitution explicitly provides that only natural born citizens can serve as president and commander-in-chief. Mr. Obamas continuing refusal to release his original 1961 birth certificate has brought Lt. Col. Lakin to the point where he feels his orders are unlawful, and thus MUST be disobeyed.
We have been here, and done that. For purposes of litigation, it is pointless to mix the apple of the legitimate questions about the place of Obama's birth, with the orange of Natural Born Citizenship. Yes, yes. Success with either one would be the "big win," and the issues are related.
But if you want a Birth Certificate, you belong in Hawaiian Courts. If you want to challenge his eligibility because he is not a Natural Born Citizen, which with a foreign father he most certainly is not, you have to be in Federal District Court in Washington, D.C.
Of course, both can be done. Just not lumped together in one pleading in the same court. Who's the Colonel's lawyer? Anyone know yet?
