It is a rash assumption to link the population changes in the country to the Massachusetts health-insurance scheme (which, incidentally, I would never have favored, if I lived there). The Easern states, particularly New England, have been losing population relative to the country for years.

There are many other reasons not to live in Massachusetts: it is not called “Taxachusetts” for nothing. Even property taxes are sky high. The gun laws are ridiculous: almost as bad as CA and NJ. The state of MA is highly corrupt. First you have the Kennedy clan. Then you have Boston, the only city in the country where the local FBI office was actually infiltrated by the local Irish mafia. It is a state with a majority Catholic population which apparently has NO pro-life congressional representation! The more beautiful the scenery, the dumber the electorate: thus we get Barney Frank.

Ugh. I would not want to carry MA plates on my car. When you consider all that, Romney did very well in such an unfavorable environment. Certainly his successor is far worse.

I would trade in an Obama for a Romney any day. Heck, I would trade in Obama for almost anyone. Just let me get a chance to make the trade!

I guess I have been mistaken for along time. I didn't realize that here in California our gun laws are worse than Massachusetts. Back in 1977 I remember driving into Massachusetts and seeing a sign that said "No Guns Allowed" or some such thing at the state line. I have yet to see one like it here in California. I didn't know that I could have carried a loaded, holstered, revolver on my belt in Massachusetts while out in the boonies like I can here in California.

Mitt Romney:”These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense,” “They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”

Mitt Romney: “I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush.”

“Reagan was adamantly pro choice”

Mitt Romney: “I’m not a partisan politician. My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.”

Mitt Romney:”One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.”
