The Republican National Committee has fired the staffer who charged the party committee for the nearly $2,000 bill from an outing at a topless nightclub, Politico reports.
The unnamed staffer was aware the outing was not eligible for reimbursement but nevertheless convinced GOP donor Erik Brown, a California businessman, to pick up the tab and seek out reimbursement, according to Politico. The trip to Voyeur in West Hollywood, a bondage-themed club featuring topless dancers, reportedly followed a RNC event for its "Young Eagles" donors.
Brown has reportedly agreed to pay back the funds.
The RNC said in a statements its "accounting and reimbursement processes are being revised" to prevent such occurrences in the future, Politico reports.
"The incident adds to Republican distractions in what would otherwise be a promising election cycle for the party," writes Aaron Blake of the Hill, noting a number of missteps from the RNC, such as a recent fundraising presentation that featured crude caricatures of Democrats.
The RNC spent about $15 million more than it raised last year, the Hill reports.

Headless Party Found in Topless Bar.
Call it what you will, she was quite rightly fired. Unless she was there to protest the club’s activities, she was “off-rez” and engaging in loose-cannon siht.
OK, why did Steele:
1. reimburse Mr. Brown for this “un-reimbursable” expense?
and
2. put it on the FEC report as “meals?”
and
3. not realize that this would be a scandal?
Yet another reason to give money to individual candidates rather than parties.
LLS
Good thing this did not happen when the RNC National Chairman was RICH BOND!
This is why the RNC needs to have a strong internal audit group, laying down the law for staffers and candidates alike.
The RNC needs to be squeaky clean. Incidents like this hurt, big-time. They must be proactively prevented.
“THROWN under the bus”???? Hardly...she’s an IDIOT....I think she must be a DEMOCRAT!!! What a SKANK!!
Squeaky Clean like Caesar’s wife!! We look like HYPOCRITES!!! Alison Meyers.....Michael Steele...you EMBARASS US!!
I think it needs to be a larger image next time.
I really think people should get over themselves, it’s so much fun to sit in the living room and decide some young woman is a “skank”. Oh please, is this the first group that went to a strip club? Is it illegal?
Should she have been let go? Sure. Was it inappropriate? Sure.
Scandal of the century? Year? Month? Hardly.
The more important point and unanswered question is WHO in the RNC was along for the “entertainment”. Would seem really something to spend $2Grand at some T-bar.
WHO WAS THERE????? Let the chips fall where they may. Some Accountant that filed the reimbursement ain’t the only one that needs to GO!!!!!
Wasn’t this a lesbian bar? Why did this woman even go there? and why is teh RNC interested in donors that like places like these? And how did Allison convince the staffer to expense it and charge it to the rnc? This thing smells all the way to the top into Steele’s office. He has got to go! Fire him, give him a buyout and put him out to pasture. His reputation is completely shot!
CANNOT BE DONE.
Dems will ALWAYS find a sexual incident out there and make conservatives turn against their leadership because of it. Remember Foley and how everyone demonized Hastert thinking he should know about every member's sexual habits and so we ended up with Pelosi?
This is a $2,000 incident we're talking about. Spit in a bucket. Sheeple conservatives fall for the MSM tactics every time.
I once went into a topless and bottomless bar. There was nobody there.
LOL. Nothing to see here, move along...
Michael Steele was interviewed tonight by John Bachelor, 77WABC.
Steele explained that Allison Myers was with a group of people that were at an RNC event. They all decided to go the the club, Erik Brown tried to pay with his credit card at the end of the evening and it was refused. Allison Myers offered her card up saying, you will have to pay back the RNC, Erik said he would and that was that.....
until now.
Fire Steele!
