I think his chances are very good. O’Malley is not well liked IMO. It’s like the ‘I miss Bush’ sentiment.

I’d say as good as Scott Brown’s were.

If he can carry Baltimore County, which he didn’t do last time, he has a “fighting chance. I live in the 1st Cong. District and we are hoping to oust (D) Kratovil. That should help turnout in a conservative district. It would be nice if the coat tails went both directions

There are a lot of good people in Maryland so this is not meant to offend. But politically speaking Maryland is a cesspool and has been for a very long time. The problem is that the state is comprised to a very large degree of Federal Employees and the baggage that government workers always have. Therefore the state will always have a very permanent liberal slant. People are dependent on the Government in a way that they are not in most other states. It’s interesting that right next door is Virginia which is a sane state politically. They have very different political cultures.

Like I’ve always said, more dead democrats will vote in Baltimore county than live Republicans in the rest of the state. This is why the state dem leader said that they have too many blacks to lose.

He was the first republican governor since Agnew. I think his chances are good.

"I thought it was against state law to be a conservative in the State of MD."It is. We have good camouflage, however.
To: truthguy
You are correct. But, Virginia is a much larger state. Marylands economy is much more effected by the number of federal and fed-contracting jobs. We probably don’t feel the pinch in a down economy as other states. At least as far as unemployment is concerned.
