No white man as dumb as Juan would have anything near the career path he’s had.

Au contraire... Ellis Hennicam; Neal Gabler. And that's just from the Fox News stable of half-horses.

and so the whitewash of history continues...

First they came for the Confederate Flag...
Then they came for the Gadsden Flag....

I thought Greta had “crossed over” after the way she was with Sarah Palin.
Didn’t know Juan was gay, but so is Shep.
Geraldo announced on an O’Reilly show that he is a registered Republican, I nearly fell out of my chair!

Although Benjamin Franklin helped create the American rattlesnake symbol, his name isn’t generally attached to the rattlesnake flag. The yellow “don’t tread on me” standard is usually called a Gadsden flag, or less commonly, a Hopkins flag.

These two individuals were mulling about Philadelphia at the same time, making their own important contributions to American history and the history of the rattlesnake flag.

Christopher Gadsden was an American patriot if ever there was one. He led Sons of Liberty in South Carolina starting in 1765, and was later made a colonel in the Continental Army. In 1775 he was in Philadelphia representing his home state in the Continental Congress. He was also one of three members of the Marine Committee who decided to outfit and man the Alfred and its sister ships.

Gadsden and Congress chose a Rhode Island man, Esek Hopkins, as the commander-in-chief of the Navy. The flag that Hopkins used as his personal standard on the Alfred is the one we would now recognize. It’s likely that John Paul Jones, as the first lieutenant on the Alfred, ran it up the gaff.

It’s generally accepted that Hopkins’ flag was presented to him by Christopher Gadsden, who felt it was especially important for the commodore to have a distinctive personal standard. Gadsden also presented a copy of this flag to his state legislature in Charleston. This is recorded in the South Carolina congressional journals:

“Col. Gadsden presented to the Congress an elegant standard, such as is to be used by the commander in chief of the American navy; being a yellow field, with a lively representation of a rattle-snake in the middle, in the attitude of going to strike, and these words underneath, “Don’t Tread on Me!”

The Revolutionary standard

The Gadsden flag and other rattlesnake flags were widely used during the American Revolution. There was no standard American flag at the time. People were free to choose their own banners.

He certainly doesn’t seem to have enthusiasm for the some of the talking points he is supposed to follow a lot of the time. He is like most lefties, just following the talking point agenda, whether he believes it or understands it...the just following orders mentality of the Left.

Juan doesn’t know his history. I don’t recall seeing anything like the Rattlesnake flag linked to McVeigh. If Timothy had an American Flag should that be taken to mean that all US flags be banned? What would we replace it with, the Rainbow Flag of the Gay movement?

"I thought Greta had “crossed over” after the way she was with Sarah Palin. Didn’t know Juan was gay, but so is Shep. Geraldo announced on an O’Reilly show that he is a registered Republican, I nearly fell out of my chair! "

Well, Greta might have "crossed over"...I looked that up right after she first came to FOX and she had donated money to the Democrat party and none to the GOP back then...so i could be wrong about that, it's been a while.

But...now I'm on the floor...I didn't know Juan was gay, which explains why he was so upset the other night that someone has insulted Barney Frank. And, I too, am flabbergasted that Geraldo is a registered pubbie.

You learn something everyday in this old world...thanks.

Exactly. They zoom in on this guy when using this photo in print media to perpetuate the white right wing nut job stereotype to advance their cause. Lying by omission is business as usual for the state run media.

McVeigh and his...pals were/are islamist enablers if not pan-islamists themselves.

I saw this.

It is a common misconception that Timothy McVeigh belonged to a militia group. There is no credible evidence that he ever belonged to a militia group. McVeigh flirted with survivalism, but never joined a militia.

As Williams is normally somewhat intelligent, I am lead to believe that this smear was deliberate.

I’ve had my Gadsden sticker on the back window of my car in L.A. for well over six months now — not one time have I gotten so much as a ‘dirtyt look’ from another driver, and no flat tires, broken windows, nothing —

What I HAVE noticed is that my uber-lefty neighbors have ceased speaking — I am VERY pleased at that turn of events!

Is it possible a lot of these la-la land lefties don’t even know what the Gadsden flag is or means?

I bought a Don’t Tread On Me flag and t-shirt at a Tea Party rally......the only connection I have to Timothy McVeigh is that I prayed for him in the days before his execution. I don’t belong to any white supremest anything...and I stood along side blacks at the rally. Listened to blacks speak and sing from the stage. Cheered them on, in fact. Juan is clueless as always.
