Why Democrats Who Voted No On ObamaCare May Still Lose
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 3/29/2010 | David Hogberg

Two new polls out from Rasmussen today suggest that even Democrats who voted against health care reform are in serious danger of losing their seats. The first shows that 54% of respondents favor repealing ObamaCare, essentially unchanged from last week.

The second shows that Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, D-S.D., now leads one of her potential Republican challengers, Secretary of State Chris Nelson, by only 44%-42%. In February, she led 45%-38%. Herseth Sandlin, co-chair of the Blue Dogs, a group of more moderate Democrats, voted against the health care bill both in November and in March, and was outspoken against the “Slaughter solution”, dubbing it “poison.”

Her lackluster numbers can be linked to voters’ preference for repealing ObamaCare, even though she voted against it.

Okay, but I don’t see it. The second Republicans get a majority, you will never hear another word about the healthcare bill. Or they will say, “it’s too hard.” Practically the second it passed, Senator John Cornyn, head of the NRSC, all but endorsed the bill, saying Republicans only wanted to make minor changes.

I called my Democrat today Jason Altmire. I thanked him for voting against the health care bill. I then told his office I could not support him since he was a Democrat and I don’t trust Democrats. I asked him to run as a Republican or Indep. I could support him then. The person who ansered the phone said that was “understandable”. Rep Altmire has voted no on everyone of the major bills so far.

RATs who voted "no" must still go!

The only reason they voted no was because Nanzi said it was OK.

Glen Nye of Virginia’s 2nd district kept saying he was undecided right up to the time the dems had enough votes for him to vote No. I for one was not fooled.

Cornyn immediately backpeddled from his asinine statement.

Yes, he backpedaled, because he had to. But at least we got to know his true feelings, right?

Also, isn't it interested that he ran out and gave that interview to Huffington Post right away? he felt he could be honest with that audience, and his base wouldn't know. You don't see Obama rushing out to give an interview to Newsmax, do you? No. Cornyn think HuffPo readers are smart, and his own base are idiots.

“Only about one-third of the so-called Blue Dog Democrats are genuinely moderate. This are people like David Boren of Oklahoma . . .”

I don’t know about David Boren, Jr. His dad (David Boren, Sr.) the former Oklahoma Governor/U.S. Senator/currently OU President used to be more moderate but now seems about as liberal as you possibly can get. The last OU graduation I attended was nothing more than a liberal rant - I felt sorry for the graduated to have to sit and listen to that liberal crap - his keynote speaker was some old hack from the Clinton administration.

I’d like to see Boren either switch to the Republican party or be replaced by a true conservative.

The Democrat party has been taken over by socialists, marxists, and communists - and they must be defeated ASAP.

Even if the Republicans won every single Congressional district, what are the chances they would even try to repeal this? My guess is the chances are between 0% and 0.1%.

It should just get thrown out in court, but if it doesn't the only chance is to replace congress and the senate and the president and pass the changes. Odds...well, odds are better with more than less removal of democrats from office.

It seems more likely that the US economy will collapse from the burden of the democrats. but we can work to save America or we can give up...I'll work.

they were released by Nazi Pelosi to vote no because she did not need their votes.

Exactly right.

We’ve seen the same thing before, where congressmen are given a pass on voting for grossly unpopular bills if they are expected to be in tough races.

Mr. Altmire here in Western Pa. is expecting a tough race and thinks he can skate by this issue in November because of his “nay”.

All dim’s need to lose.
If we can not win in SD we are doomed.
Are we planing on electing real conservatives in California? Massachusetts? The best we will get out of them of is RINO’s.
If conservative states do not elect conservative republicans there is no hope left. How can this WITCH be close in SD? What is wrong with these states? Please I would like to know.
