Well they’ve been fighting it since the early 90’s and it’s still going on. So the Russian method can’t be all that effective. Russia should just left Chechnya secede. Or, better yet, expel Chechnya. I don’t know what they want the Chechens for anyway.
The Republic of Chechnya, located on the north slope of the Caucasus Mountains within 100 kilometers of the Caspian Sea, is strategically vital to Russia for two reasons. First, access routes to both the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea go from the center of the federation through Chechnya. Second, vital Russian oil and gas pipeline connections with Kazakstan and Azerbaijan also run through Chechnya.
Russians are funding Iran’s nuke program and generally aiding terrorism worldwide. You reap what you sow.
Chechnya is great, except for all those #$@% Chechnyans.
