According to two knowledgeable sources, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele once raised the possibility of using party money to buy a private jet for his travel.

Wasn’t Tim Kaine, the DNC chairman, missing for awhile, at the same time that Sanford was missing? It’s no wonder they don’t have any record of his travel, they don’t know where he goes.
Michael Steele may not have been the best choice for RNC chair person, but you know what? He’s a whole lot better than anyone the DNC EVER had, and he’s all we’ve got right now. So, we make the best of it.

There are not that many blacks in the republican party. Steele was an obvious choice to eliminate the racist charges the dems were certainly planning. He also happens to be incompetent but so have the last several.
