Here we go again. Another attack on the Church by leftists and pederasts.

It’s characteristic that they attack Pope Benedict, who had nothing to do with the scandal, and defend Rembert Weakland, who was one of the main contributors to the scandal—and who finally resigned in disgrace when it was revealed that he stole diocesan funds to pay off a homosexual lover.

Maybe if they really are concerned about child pederasty, they should run a front-page article on Obama’s Safe Schools Czar.

What baffles me is why Weakland is made to look like he's some kind of hero for asking Rome to defrock Fr. Murphy. Weakland was my archbishop and I loath the man. He took our donations and paid off an extortionist (his gay lover who threatened to make his affairs public) without telling us about it. Weakland hid news of pedophilia in the diocese, he took extremely liberal stances on issues and hinted that abortion might be ok.

Once he was replaced, he has refused to just "go away" and be quiet. He befriended some woman from the New York Times who has written sympathetic articles about him and has written a book about his life and affairs. Ugh, please be quiet is all I can ask of this guy.
