I just called JustAmy and found that they are a mile away from the rally, stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. She said Jim was en route also and more than likely was stuck in traffic too. There is just no way they can get through the gridlock and make it to the rally now. They realize they should have arrived at 6:00 this morning. Amy is disappointed, of course, but thrilled to see this kind of turn out.
We both were reminded of the frustration of standing in line for hours and hours to get into Bush’s Inauguration and never quite making it before it was over.
Oh my..I am so sad for those waiting...so glad for the big turnout
OMG - they must be so frustrated!
What a crush it’s turned out to be - that is so awesome!
If the Dems thought they could bully us into not showing up by crying Racism! they sure have another think coming!
Oh, no. I was hoping Amy and family would all make it! I read earlier that there were only 38 port-a-potties and only parking for 1,000 cars. They are also saying that there are already approx. 20,000 people there. They also said that no one is allowed to park alongside the roads - anywhere. What a mess.
We got to sit faily close to Sarah's left....close enough to see her and hear her (some had a hard time hearing as the news chopper's were loud!)
We didn't meet up with any FReepers but as we were leaving (shortly after Roger Hedgecock spoke) we ran into Jim. He was just arriving!
I introduced myself and he told us that he had been sitting in traffic and missed Sarah. That is a complete bummer!
We had a fantastic time but, yes, the moron side egged the TPE bus! Did they not bother to read the stupid signs they put up all along the way in....."Make love, not war"> Peaceful my arse!
