Geologists from the University of Leicester are among four scientists- including a Nobel prize-winner -- who suggest that Earth has entered a new age of geological time.

The Age of Aquarius? Not quite -- It's the Anthropocene Epoch, say the scientists writing in the journal Environmental Science & Technology.

And they add that the dawning of this new epoch may include the sixth largest mass extinction in Earth's history.

Ya, like “Nobel Prize” winner means I need to take his word on this.

Sorry but it carries no prestige any longer.

OOO! “Experts” say.

“The scientists note that getting that formal designation will likely be contentious. But they conclude, “However these debates will unfold, the Anthropocene represents a new phase in the history of both humankind and of the Earth, when natural forces and human forces became intertwined, so that the fate of one determines the fate of the other. Geologically, this is a remarkable episode in the history of this planet.”

Wow, uncanny! humans and the environment are BECOMING intertwined! WE NEED FUNDING TO LOOK INTO THIS!!

and “Experts” including a NOBEL prize winner at that!
I wonder if they are “Leading scientist” as well?
Because “Leading Scientist”, “They” and “Experts” are the smartest people on the planet!

Footnote: Yasser aerofat and Obama also we handed this joke of a totally communist, liberty hating award.

The University of Leicester clearly has an excellent Bull Sh1t department of government money for cash department and the credibility of east anglia.

I guess the Age of Obama is not living up to all the pre-election hype.

Bloody fools. All geological time divisions are named retroactively, after millions of years' worth of rock strata and fossil sequences have been properly identified and used as markers.

Geologists my arse - more like Egologists!

What absolute ego on a quantum jump level. All of the race of Man and all our effect upon this massive planet is equivalent to what one typical ant colony would do to the entire state of Texas.

Especially after they gave it to Zero and Yes-sir Araphat. At this point, if I were offered one, I’d reject it as an insult.
