You lost your country thanks to McCain-Feingold. Maybe you should wake up. No one gives a sh*t about RINO Romney.

The bill that Fred Thompson - who was crowned THE "Conservative" Choice - helped sponsor. McCain was obviously not the perfect candidate, but there is no such thing. Reagan himself recognized that when he mentioned the line that goes something like "The person who votes with me 80% of the time is my friend." But based on some of Reagan's votes as governor of CA, I've no doubt some of you would have labeled him a socialist when he first ran against Carter.

Going through this thread, based on all the hysterical invectives, it sure is hard noticing any difference between some so called "conservatives" and liberals at times. It's that hysteria that may have actually cost us the election last fall by driving up McCain's negatives and suppressing the conservative turnout.

To those who think Palin should have turned on the guy who put her in the national spotlight, all I have to say is, with friends like you who consider backstabbing a virtue, who would need enemies?

She didn’t have to “turn” on him. She just didn’t have to go out and actively campaign for someone who continuously compromises with liberals.

Quoting Reagan is not a good excuse for supporting moderates who compromise with liberals. People act as if they invoke the name of Reagan and it excuses the failings of the modern Republican Party. Rush and others are saying that Republicans have now learned their lesson. Have they truly learned their lesson? The proof is in the pudding.

Recently there was a proposal in the Senate to ban earmarks. How may Republicans voted for it?

The Republican Party has not yet learned its lesson. In the era of Reagan his injunction to never speak ill of a fellow Republican was valid. We are in a new era, and in this new era, the weaknesses of the Republican Party have their source within the party. In this new era, Reagan would object to using his name to absolve those who remain a part of the problem.

Arturo is right.

I think everyone on here needs to chill.

Every major potential candidate Romney included have issued support for McCain.

I also think everyone is reading too much into this immigration stance by Palin. She said she supports the idea of strong border control. She never said she supports amnesty. She did say that she doesn’t agree with John on everything but he is a federalist and believes in smaller government and less waste. That is the big picture right now.

Shoot all you want but your only shooting yourselves in the foot by expecting perfection from someone who is not running for anything.

Palin is fighting harder to save our freedom and putting herself out there more than anyone else for the sake of our country. She is being attacked from all sides and still stands strong for the constitution. Even some of my most favorite conservatives only put themselves out there to a point. Sarah is all in and has earned my respect.

Its not the liberals tearing this country apart, it is the infighting amongst the conservatives led by Romney and his bots aided and abetted by the more than happy liberal media.

McCain was bought off by Soros. He was never going to win anyway. MCCain -Feingold put Democrats in total control of the govt and we may be screwed for good now. Bush should have veto’ed. McCain hates conservatives.
