Washington (CNSNews.com) Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.), a professed Roman Catholic, told CNSNews.com Wednesday that federal funding of health plans that cover elective abortions is not a question of morality but a matter of health -- public health.
Obviously theres going to be some legal decisions that are going to be coming forward, Im sure, that are going to adjudicate this, Kennedy said at the Capitol. But obviously, weve got to protect womens health. Half of our population are women, and -- this is a matter of public health.
He added: Its not a question of morality or anything; its a matter of health -- public health. Our mothers, our sisters, our spouses, I mean, this is a simple issue. Its not making any judgment on people. Its just a matter of providing -- making sure that theyre safe. And theres only one way to make sure theyre safe, and thats making sure that its legal.

Kennedy scum!
NOTHING is a question of Morality to a Kennedy!
Make that stance at judgment day, Kennedy.
Rose Kennedy must be positively rolling over in her grave.
Tell that to God, Patches. See how far you get.
Too bad Patrick wasn’t aborted. Of course that hairdo might qualify as one!
hasn’t he been excommunicated already?
euthanasia is also form of “health care”, guess he’ll find no moral issue there either.
Doper alert !
Who's health? Certainly not the unborn baby's health. What a foolish declaration. No wonder the health of the Kennedys themselves is always an uncertainty.
I’m sure if a Kennedy could get away with it, they would approve of government funded lobotomies just like the one Joe did to his daughter.
Patches...... just stfu.
Fake Catholic.
Dear Patches....why should abortion be federally funded? There are other “choices” women can make. A) abstinence/and or adoption; B) Birth Control C) condoms. Get your nose out of the Ambien and booze bottles and wake up!
A Kennedy schooling ME about morals? I don’t think so.
I believe that Kennedy is having psychiatric issues. His appearances on TV have been bizarre.
Redundant.
Let me spell it out for you: M_U_R_D_E_R.
