Benedict Arnold is among the elite when it comes to leaders of American troops in battle. His troops loved him, but his superior officers — and many in congress — didn’t.

Arnold changed sides after his spectacular leadership agaisnt the British at places like Quebec, Lake Champlain, and Saratoga. It was his abysmal treatment by jealous generals (other than Washington) and the Continental Congress that led him to betray our country.

Without Arnold, America probably wouldn’t exist.

Agree. I should not have put Arnold in the same sentence as Fonda and Kerry.
