Chief of the U.S. Military: Shut down Guantanamo Bay

Published on 25 May 2009 by admin in General News, In The Media

Admiral Mike Mullen stated it simply, “I’d like to see it shut down.” Mullen believes Guantanamo has significantly damaged the reputation of the United States, even going so far as to say (in other articles) that it has been a powerful recruiting tool for Islamic terrorists. Rand couldn’t agree more. Rand believes America can fight terrorism and maintain its moral integrity without resorting to offshore prison camps, “prolonged detention”, and other, highly questionable legal measures. For Rand, national security and the rule of law go hand in hand. More and more high-ranking military officials are confirming his position.

Right, especially given those comments about Grayson are about his political leanings from decades ago when he was a teenager and early 20 something as an undergraduate in college. They use that and act like he was some sort of prominent politician - he was a kid. Asinine argument. If the teenage Trey Grayson or college kid Trey Grayson was on the ballot he sure as heck would not have my vote - but the grown-up, adult Trey Grayson is who is actually on the ballot.

And it is quite telling none of these Rand Paul defenders are addressing the fact the main point of this is the character issue - Rand Paul has denied this was ever on his official website, which it was, has denied this was ever his position, but in addition to this, he is on tape being highly critical of it and saying it damaged the reputation of the U.S. which is entirely consistent with his comments on this post, and now called his opponent Trey Grayson a “liar” for suggesting this was ever his position.

The Paul family doesn’t play nice and they are liars. I was doing a search on Ron Paul’s 2008 campaign and guess what? He was railing vs. health insurance cos. just like Obama has done. Now he claims outrage over the “healthcare” bill. The Pauls are liars and imposters.

I saw Ron Paul on Tavis Smiley’s program one day and he said that we needed to get out of Afghanistan so the money could be used for more important things like healthcare...he was willing to use the prevailing rhetoric of the day to demagogue against the War on Terror. They are typical politicians merely setting up their own machines and establishment tactics - they embody the very things they claim to be against.
