Tiahrt, "Defund Obamacare"
Tiahrt Press Release ^ | 24 March 2010 | Congressman Todd Tiahrt

Posted on 03/24/2010 8:32:34 PM PDT by Kansas58

Less than a day after President Obama signed the Democrat’s healthcare bill into law, the Ranking Republican of the House subcommittee with funding jurisdiction over federal healthcare spending has proposed House-Senate strategy discussions to defund the new law. U.S. Congressman Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.) has sent a letter to House and Senate leaders proposing that meetings begin immediately to "undo the damage" done by the new healthcare law, including moves to defund the new mandates.

Tiahrt is the Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education.

"Now that President Obama has signed the unconstitutional healthcare bill into law, Republicans need a full-court-press strategy to undo the damage Democrats have created," said Tiahrt. "I am calling for strategy discussions with House and Senate leaders so we can begin the process of defunding every federal mandate contained in the president’s new law."

Yeah, Andrew Breitbart is offering $10k to anyone with audio-video proof of tea partiers yelling the N word. Somebody called Hannity totday and, because her husband works for the justice dept., was able to get one of the staffers in Lewis’s office to admit no such thing occurred.

I doubt if such a suit would succeed, but sure, they can sue for it. Basically anybody can sue anybody for most anything. Doesn’t mean you’ll win.

True story: somebody sued a car rental agency in southern CA because someone with an Irish surname rented a vehicle from the company, got drunk and ran into the plaintiff. The plaintiff sued the rental company under the theory that, because the patron had an Irish surname, the car rental company should have known he’d get drunk, drive and potentially injure someone. It was dismissed, but still, the car rental company had to mount and pay for a defense.

Sux!
