Repeal Of Bill, All Or In Part, Is Problematic
Investors.com ^ | March 24, 2010 | BENJAMIN ZYCHER

It's springtime, and with the enactment of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid health care monstrosity, repeal is in the air. And why not?

Supported by substantial popular majorities now energized as never before, congressional Republicans opposed the legislation unanimously, and the polls point unambiguously to substantial gains for the GOP this November.

And so we have several Republican members of Congress promising that the first bill to be taken up in 2011 by a Republican House of Representatives will repeal the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act."

Forget that Orwellian title of the ObamaCare law. Ignore the eternal truth that central planning — that's what the new law is, and no amount of obfuscation can change that reality — has never and cannot reduce costs or expand access to health care services. And shunt aside the fact that Mr. Obama will remain ensconced in the Oval Office, and that the Democrats are likely to retain a majority in the Senate.

Passing the bill was problematic, but it didn’t stop the Democrats. I’m not interested in whiney excuses from the GOP. Either step up to the plate, or stay home and let someone with a backbone do the job.

Putting this outrage into place for 300 million people is even more problematic. Getting rid of it should be a cinch.

They could always just deem it repealed.

This guy is right: it's got to be a total repeal, not a partial repeal.

Yes, total repeal would be deeply problematic politically, but partial repeal would prove a Gordian knot. The proper (and courageous) long-run course is to cut it: a total repeal....

But then he continues and wusses out:

...combined with a new reform that decentralizes the health-coverage system, levels the playing field between employer and nongroup coverage and reduces the incentive to consume health care resources inefficiently.

WTF?! Just go for a total repeal. Leave everything as it was. Put everything back in its place.

How come the MSM did not condemn Joe Biden for his vulgarity, but the MSM had a meltdown when Dick Cheney used vulgar words? And the MSM celebrated that 12 year old girl who condemned Dick Cheney at the 2004 Democrat convention?

MSM double standard? Is vulgarity to be condemned or not? Or is it just OK if Democrats are vulgar?????

Why, they passed this monster with ease; so they should be able to get rid of it with just as much ease.

It could hopefully be repealed after November but the WH occupant can veto and an override would be difficult. I was thinking that the Republicans might be better served by passing legislation that would strip the bill of its funding and unpopular coersion (ie taxes, fees, mandates). It still might be vetoed but it would put pressure on 0bozo to defend the indefensible and setting him up to be Mr. Tax in 2012. If he fails to veto, it could sit there unfunded and possibly be eliminated with a Republican president.

How come the MSM did not condemn Joe Biden for his vulgarity

We all know the answer to that. Well yes, it is a big f'ng deal, because this bill was passed by any means necessary and they will make us abide the law by any means necessary..It has already been said that this law will control the people.

Liberals clearly have no morals, ethics, standards that they feel compelled to adhere to or any positive values.

I have always been a very fair person. I have risked getting zotted many times for giving libs the benefit of the doubt when the story isn't clear and they're being roasted unfairly. No mo!

Ten years of trying to defuse conservative hot heads and warn liberal lunk heads where this is leading to is over. The libs don't deserve the benefit of the doubt for anything anymore. They are the enemy of this nation ... end of story.

Repeal. Worth a try. Find unconstitutional. Worth a try. Elect Conservative majority in house. Don’t fund the monstrosity. Finally, Resist! Resist! Resist! In your heart you know what to do. Never quit.

Imposition of Socialized Medicine in the United States was somewhat problematic but yet here we are. I am sick of hearing how repeal is problematic. The re-establishment of our Liberty is not problematic, it is essential. If that is inconvenient or just too damn hard for some people, then I suggest they just bend over and learn to love Big Brother.

The cold hard truth of the matter is that whenever our side gets power they melt like ice in the desert at the least sign of adversity. Unlike the other side that sees somewhat problematic as no problem at all, our side sees somewhat problematic as a license to accept the unacceptable.

Well......since spending bills originate in the House...why not just refuse to fund it with one red cent?

No money, no infrastructure. Let it die, wither on the vine.

The article was mainly said the same thing... that Republicans probably won’t repeal the Health Care travesty because they like parts of it.

My two cents:

And conservatives who just vote lockstep Republican, without any thought on the candidates stance on these issues, will be the enablers allowing this travesty to stay the law of the land. Unless we *CHOOSE* those candidates that stand for our beliefs and ideals, we will *NEVER* get the government we want.

AT the end of his naysaying, he makes it obvious that ONLY TOTAL REPEAL-AND-REPLACE WOULD WORK....

“Yes, total repeal would be deeply problematic politically, but partial repeal would prove a Gordian knot. The proper (and courageous) long-run course is to cut it: a total repeal combined with a new reform that decentralizes the health-coverage system, levels the playing field between employer and nongroup coverage and reduces the incentive to consume health care resources inefficiently.”
