Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) tells National Review Online that Democrats have attempted to marginalize tea-party groups during the health-care fight because they are scared to death of them. There is nothing politicians fear more than the unknown. And in an Obamacare world, McCain predicts that the movement against the administrations extreme liberalism will be an influential factor in this years elections.
McCain gives credit to Sarah Palin, his former running mate, for her efforts in stirring up opposition outside of the legislative arena. I think Sarah is a very important influence on the American political scene, he says. Shes energized and inspirational. When I look at the number of vicious attacks on her character from the left, Im not sure if Im amused or disturbed. Its astounding. They dont like the message, so they attack the messenger.
McCain believes that belittling Obamacares opponents could misfire for Democrats. The anger and frustration among many Americans is unlike anything Ive ever seen, he says. The president convinced a lot of Americans on the campaign trail that he was a centrist who would change the climate of Washington, with transparency and openness. Yet instead of C-SPAN cameras, we got sweetheart deals made behind closed doors. With this health-care bill, they can see his fundamental philosophy, and how he governs from the left.

You would know, wouldn't you, Juan?
"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."
U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008
ugh, that seems to be all I can say about him lately
When is the AZ primary?
McCain will not be on the November ballot.
Sarah, please, dump this weasel.
August 24.
“I think Sarah is a very important influence on the American political scene, he says. Shes energized and inspirational. “
That is why you are sucking the blood out of her main artery, you vile POS !!
If he had any smarts and decency, he would fade away.
too little too late, John

Right now I'm running in a primary as a R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C-A-N and I can't afford to let those wackos in the Tea Party get too steamed up at me. I'll just ignore them after I get re-elected. All the illegal aliens I plan to naturalize wil out number them anyway.
I hope you’re right.
Beware of wolves in sheeps’ clothing. Not saying who’s the wolf, just saying “beware”.
Uh... I'd like to take Disturbed for $600, Alex.
"Disturbed politician ran a lousy campaign for President despite having a GREAT VP candidate."
Who was John McCain?
Correct.
Paraphrasing from General MacArthur:
Juan McAmnesty........old navy pilots never die, they just fly away. It’s time for you to fly far, far away.
if the GOP continues to go jelly-kneed on repeal, it may finally be time to fire up the Tea Third Party
McCain (particularly his campaign aides) didn’t listen to Sarah when he was running. He made the unfortunate mistake of not painting Obama as a left wing radical (even when Sarah was trying to get that message out at rallies despite being restrained by the campaign).
McCain is listening to Sarah now. He is listening to the TEA Party now. I’ve seen him give fiery speeches on the Senate floor and take to the media to slam Obamacare. I commented to a friend of mine last night that THIS McCain is the guy I wanted to vote for for president. Why couldn’t McCain have been like this when he was campaigning for president?
McCain now gets the deal. He understands the will of the people. He is speaking out on Sarah’s behalf. He gave us Sarah.
I know some on my side are going to kill me for this. But, the fact of the matter is John McCain gave us Sarah Palin. That has to trump his boneheaded moves in the past, especially now that he sees the light. John McCain is a better person, a better candidate and a better Senator now because of Sarah. I say he deserves to be re-elected to the Senate.
He was nowhere to be found during the fight against the HC bill, but by God, right after it was signed into law (and everyone here was asking where the he$$ McCain was) he suddenly began appearing on every TV program that would book him. Jerk, he thinks nobody noticed.
