To all intents and purposes Britain is already at war with the Iranian dictatorship, and has been for several years. This weekend’s disturbing report in The Sunday Times merely confirms what we have known for some time – that Iran is actively training the Taliban in Afghanistan, and is directly involved in the killing of British, American and Allied forces. (See also Con Coughlin’s excellent analysis here.) Tehran’s direct intervention in Afghanistan follows in the wake of the Iranian-backed insurgency in southern Iraq, which led to the deaths of more than a hundred British troops.
Just last week, General David H. Petraeus, commander of US Central Command, reiterated that Iran is aiding the al-Qaeda network, which “continues to use Iran as a key facilitation hub, where facilitators connect al Qaeda’s senior leadership to regional affiliates.” In December Petraeus told ABC News that Iran was providing “a modest level of equipment, explosives and perhaps some funding to the Taliban in western Afghanistan,”

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Good joke. A western country is actually going to do something about Jimmy Carter’s creation. Us westerners CREATED the radical state in Iran. The die was already cast on this issue by George Bush, when he failed to act.
The only possible exception will be if Obama needs a big crisis just before the 2010 or 2012 election. Iran would be a big one.

Given the British Govt’s appeasement of mullahs’ regime, for economic gains (historically as well) & often political maneuvering, over the past 3 decades, if not the general & historical British inclination towards further propagating Islam (specifically “Shia” Islam in Iran), some say & have said it is more like *Khomeini* & *the Khomeinists* have British blood, instead of “British blood on their hands”!
Who really knows... perceptions may not be reality, though perceptions are often based on some factual info, which often become reality for many.
