Stagflation is on the way, caused by massive federal spending and tax increases and massive money-printing by the Fed. Food and energy prices are already rising and will continue to rise, while economic growth will begin to slow down early next year. Talk by the Fed that "inflationary expectations remain subdued" is a futile attempt to contain the inevitable major increase in inflation as growth in the emerging economies continues and drives up demand for global commodities. The current congress and administration is reducing the economic incentives for productive work and investment at exactly the wrong time, while increasing the incentives to be lazy and unproductive. This will only make stagflation worse in the next two years.

The GOP will retake the House in November, and then retake the senate and the White House in 2012. Obama will suffer one of the most crushing election defeats in history and will lose the popular vote by a margin of approximately 55%-44%. He may win only one state in 2012, and I'll leave it to you liberal political wizards to figure out which one he wins.

After reading this article I was unhappy, they say that it does not stand much of a chance.
I just listened to this video clip

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GVu0P3LLWs&feature=player_embedded

There is a darn good argument for this to work well. Since they are probably going to claim that they are using the commerce clause to regulate interstate commerce to pass this health care bill. It does not apply at all. There is no commerce on the bill between states!

You must get the state that you reside in to pay for the health care, there is no opening of the markets between states therefore the fed has no authority to regulate.

To me this makes one heck of an argument. Can anyone who has more litigation experience or understanding of the clause make any argument to counter this?

I am just wondering how this will turn out. I am hoping but not hopeful.

I started it last year, and forgot about it.

I will finish it...I wanted to do an animated GIF of this guy dancing from foot to foot, and have a bus plow into him from the right side of the screen...

I spent several hours on it, and got completely sidetracked and forgot...your post made me remember it!

Democratic socialists are not “nice guys.” They are the enemy and those who believe in the Constitution should be working on eliminating them. That is THEIR goal as it applies to us, and we had better recognize the enemy and eliminate them before they eliminate us.

I am looking to Brady to win and to do the job he was elected to do. If he fails, I will continue to work toward backing a conservative who will win...the road to victory is going to be a long one...but that’s nothing new to us from Illinois, is it?

The problem here in Illinois is that we are in a big mess, and it’s going to take more than a change of governors to get us out of it. Even if Brady wins, a lot of the crud in the General Assembly that is there now will still be there. The Combine will stlil be going strong.

Looks like he’s dancing on trolley tracks - getting hit by even a “light rail” is much more impactful than a bus.

Did you take the pix? If so, where/what is this?

Looks like we have another leftie loon to add to the “Women of the Democratic Party” poster, as opposed to those on the “right”. She’s perfect for it.

That, in and of itself, is unconstitutional, as the Constitution applies itself equally to every citizen, regardless of provision or circumstance of the individual

That language (it's called a "severability clause") is in every federal act, and has been for decades.

What? That might fly as an excuse on some liberal forum, but you're talking to conservatives here. We tend to see things without the "nuance".

It was a racist joke, plain and simple. Please follow the forum posting rules and refrain from posting stuff like that.

Couldn't agree with you more about the HUGE mess we're in here in Illinois. We've been bogged down in hard-core corruption for a long, long time. I don't know when this chain of corruption will be broken...though I have read enough police blogs to know that both the police and firefighters are fed up with the corruption, lawlessness and the breakdown of morale and city services in Chicago, and are talking “vote conservative Republican”, something I never thought I would hear.

I'm a southside Republican, too, and the hard nut to crack will be the people who depend on corruption as a way of life...second and third generation dependents on welfare and the politicians and store front reverends who have skin in the game and want to keep the status quo. In the meantime, all we can do is make sure conservative Republicans run for office, and hopefully in our lifetime, we will crack that nut.
