Obama Signs Pro-Abortion Health Care Bill, Ignores Executive Order

Washington, DC -- President Barack Obama signed the pro-abortion government-run health care bill into law today but did not sign an executive order that would supposedly nullify the abortion funding. Leading pro-life and pro-abortion groups are in rare agreement as they say the order is virtually meaningless.

Anyone wanna bet he won’t sign it?

Cannot anyone/everyone sue him for breach of promise or are politicians protected from normal laws about verbal agreements?

I would guess for him to sign anything prolife even if it holds no power is something he would physically find extremely hard to do.

Now that it passes it becomes more difficult for the republican party to stay united in campaigning repealing it. It was easy for RINOs to oppose passage, but now republicans wont agree on which parts to campaign on repealing. On the other hand democrats will just talk about the goodies given away, most go into effect 4 years from now.

On a brighter side, one of the amendments Senate republicans will make democrats vote down is defunding Viagra for convicted sex offenders, Unless dems vote down the amendment, the house would have to vote on the bill again. Otherwise they go on record FOR funding it. The idea is to put Senate democrats in amendment hell. The bad side is, Dems only need 40 votes to defeat them.

....what is so striking for me is that our Gov. Representatives have to even deal with such issues as Viagra. What kind of nation have we become! Read today of high school facilitating young girls abortion .... advising and setting up the procedure, parents never advised or informed. No common sense used today.

Only 40 votes to to defeat amendments? if so then the most these will do is stall until the elections...and that is a good thing if it works...however can't they stop this if they see the republicans are using this as a stall tactic?

I dont mean to depress you further but offering amendments is unlikely to stall this bill for long, unless they find something in violation of reconciliation rules. And even then the cheaper Senate bill is still the law and Obama had his victory that cannot be removed now.

The purpose of the amendments is to force a record of at least 40 democrats defending very unpopular side effects of the bill for November elections. A more optimistic goal is to scuttle the whole rec bill so house dems have to live with the senate bill they hate, but passed with Obama promises.

.....”scuttle the whole rec bill so house dems have to live with the senate bill they hate”.....

Might actually be the best way to go when one thinks about it. Lots of political posturing beginning now. I use to see politics as a chess game...anymore it looks like a crap shoot!

BTW ..much better day today...geesh I took a nose dive yesterday! Worse I brought it to FR and that's embarrassing!
