While searching on YouTube for the video of the protesters at the Capitol this weekend, I found what I think is the original video.
This is not the 48-second excerpt that I've seen elsewhere. This one is 6:51 in length.
I'll save you the time and effort of watching the entire video: Move the slider out to just less than half-way, and watch the timer at the right.
Listen carefully at 3:31 to 3:34. You may have to turn up the volume a bit.
I'm not sure exactly what is being yelled at that point. But, I think I can hear how it could have been interpreted.
These race-mongers can probably hear slurs in white noise when they want to.
(Or even in the term “white noise”.)

There are two primary possibilities...they heard the ...ER ending of murderer or traitor and assumed it was the n...er word, or they're just lying and heard just fine.

That's the way I feel, as well. However, I wanted to post it for other people to listen and get multiple opinions.
I don't think it conclusively proves that anything was said, but I think it's close enough that someone could interpret it that way among all the other background noise.
A few people have suggested that it was actually "traitor". I think that's as good a possibility as any other alternative. But in the end, I think that someone is going to hear what they want to hear.
And I have to wonder what the congress-critters were doing there, because their presence already made me think they were there to instigate an incident or that it was a setup.
A few people have posted that there's a tunnel going from the office building to the Capitol building, and that most of the Congressmen used that. So yes, I think they were looking for a confrontation. If you look closely, you'll notice that at least one of the people in the group is making his own recording. I think that it's interesting that we haven't heard that recording.
Sure - so how do you propose we do that other than to challenge it whenever it is played?
And again, exactly what is "lame-minded" about tea party participants? Please be specific.

Well. it was as audible as the N word.
I have listened to it 4 times and all I hear between 3:30-3:40 is “kill, kill, kill the bill”. And I see no indication of anyone being spat upon.

It’s almost definitely “traitor”. I heard that word used a lot when people were yelling down there, although I was at the other side of the capitol at the time of this video (I used the word myself, a couple of times).
The exact word doesn’t matter of course. The slander is out there, and has served its purpose.
in a country based on the principal of freedom... freedom of speech is an american birthright. offensive speech and “hate” speech are protected. Nigger is just a word. derogatory like, hick, hayseed, kike, cracker and democratic senator.
it should not offend anyone of intellect.
offensive words are just excuses to use violence and violence should never be allowed to go without punishment.
